Operation Noah has just launched an exciting new toolkit for Catholic investors called Catholic Social Teaching and Investing in Climate Solutions. It is designed to support financial directors, treasurers, trustees and committee members within Catholic dioceses, organisations, congregations and religious orders, to help them align their investment strategies with CST principles.
However, all Catholics are encouraged to engage with this resource and to share it with decision-makers because it will equip them to advocate for impactful climate solutions within the Church.
The comprehensive toolkit will help you to:
Understand the urgency of climate action through a faith-based lens.
Apply the “See-Judge-Act” framework to your investment decisions.
Focus on effective climate solutions, such as renewable energy.
The principles of CST encourage Catholic investors to discern the effects and impacts of their investments, with the goal of minimising harm while seeking the common good
This toolkit is structured into seven chapters, each focusing on one core pillar of Catholic Social Teaching (CST) using the 'See, Judge, Act' framework:
Life and Dignity of the Human Person and Integral Ecology
Care for Creation
Preferential Option for the Poor
Solidarity and the Common Good
Subsidiarity and Participation in Governance
Economic Justice, the Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers
Peace
It also contains real examples of faith-based investing in climate solutions plus links to further resources. You can order a printed copy of the resource directly from Operation Noah or download it here:
